Issue
I am trying to test and REST API with OkHttps mock server. Because of anroid limitations (no clear text http request allowed in newer android versions) I need to user server.useHttps(...)
. I tried it with the default SSLSocketFactory
.

I already did a lot of research but I haven't found any similar blogs. Thankful for any advice or documentation links.
Solution
Instead of using server.useHttps
, you can simply try creating a network security config, whitelist localhost and add it to your app.
First, create a network_security_config.xml and put it into your app's res/xml folder

<base-config cleartextTrafficPermitted="false" />
<domain-config cleartextTrafficPermitted="true">
<domain includeSubdomains="true">localhost</domain>
<domain includeSubdomains="true">127.0.0.1</domain>
</domain-config>
</network-security-config>
Then add it to your app's manifest

<application android:networkSecurityConfig="@xml/network_security_config"
